ICIAP 2007 - Venue

The 14th edition of ICIAP will be held in Modena (Italy) from Sept. 10 to Sept. 14, 2007, in the stunning setting of Palazzo Ducale (dated 1634 DC), a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and current headquarter of the Military Academy.

Modena is a prosperous city ideally in the middle of a triangle with Milan, Venice and Florence as vertexes. As historical city, Modena, as former capital of the Ducato Estense, hosts marvellous pieces of architecture, such as the magnificent 12th-century Cathedral, supreme example of Romanesque art, declared as UNESCO World's Heritage Site in 1997.

How to reach Modena

By Plane
The nearest airport is the Airport of Bologna Guglielmo Marconi (34Km far).
The airport of Bologna has very frequent direct connections to all major European Hubs (Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, London, Amsterdam).
From the airport, a shuttle is availableevery two hours (More Information and time table )
The trip lasts about 1 hour and costs about 10 Euro. There is a discount of 10% if you buy also the return ticket.

By Train
Modena has direct connection by train to/from Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt, Paris.

By Car
If you travel by car, you can reach Modena by A1 Motorway. Exit at "Modena Sud" coming from Bologna or "Modena Nord" coming from Milano. Otherwise, the Brennero Motorway (A22) from Innsbruck ends in Modena.

Take direction for "centro" (i.e., the downtown).



Conference Location - Palazzo ducale

The venue of the Conference is "Palazzo Ducale" which hosts the Military Academy. The main entrance is in Piazza Roma in the center of Modena, close to most of the hotels.
By walking, it is 5-10 minutes far from the railway station.
